Questions landlords ask.

How long does it take to get started?

It depends on the size of your portfolio, but it's typically minutes, not weeks. You drop in your documents — a tenancy, your certificates, even a spreadsheet — and ZuroProp reads each one in seconds, then sets up the property, tenant and rent and starts tracking compliance for you. A single-let landlord is usually up and running in a few minutes; a larger portfolio takes a little longer, mostly just the time to upload the files.

Can I bring my data over from spreadsheets or another tool?

Yes. You can bring your tenants in from a spreadsheet — upload a CSV or Excel file and ZuroProp will match each tenant to the right property. You can also drop in your existing documents and let ZuroProp read the details out of them to build your records. There's no need to retype everything from your old system.

Does ZuroProp handle my Making Tax Digital submissions?

ZuroProp keeps you ready for Making Tax Digital by working with the accounting software HMRC already recognises. We push your rent, expenses and mortgage interest straight to Xero, FreeAgent, Sage or QuickBooks, and your MTD submissions go to HMRC from there. ZuroProp isn't itself an HMRC submission tool — you stay compliant through your connected accounting software, and you don't need to change your accountant.

Do I need an accountant to use it?

No. ZuroProp works whether or not you use an accountant. If you don't have one, you run everything yourself from one screen. If you do, we send your figures straight to their Xero, FreeAgent, Sage or QuickBooks — so they get clean, categorised numbers and you don't change how you already work.

What happens to my data if I leave?

Your data is yours. While your account is active you can export your whole portfolio — properties, tenants, payments, documents and financial reports — at any time, as a full data download plus CSV and PDF reports. If you close your account, you have 60 days to download everything before it's deleted from our active systems; it's then cleared from our backups on our regular backup cycle, so we don't keep your data indefinitely.

Who owns the data — me or ZuroProp?

You do. In data-protection terms you're the data controller and ZuroProp is the processor — we handle your data on your behalf and under your instructions. We don't sell it, and we use it only to run ZuroProp for you. You can export it whenever you want and take it with you if you leave.
